Please help me on this fundraiser

I have been accused of something that I didn't do And I am being sued for it! On December 2, 2000, I held a rally in New Haven in front of then Vice Presidential candidate Joe Lieberman's house, doing what little I could to show support for the newly elected President Bush, and to show my frustration at the Democrats in their attempts to overturn the genuinely won election by George W. Bush. At the end of the rally, Former Ct State Senator Tom Scott was speaking on the back of my truck, when all of a sudden the lead Democrat supporter of the counter rally held at the same location, started to approach my truck, then turned and took 3 or 4 running steps and jumped on the bed of my truck in a manner that I thought he was going to attack someone on the truck: either me or Tom. I stepped to his side and held out my arm to stop him as he ran into my arm and immediately stopped his forward motion. I kept my hand held out in front of him to prevent him from going forward on the truck bed and get closer to Tom who was speaking at the time. After 3 seconds or so, the man who jumped on my truck immediately turned and jumped down off the truck into the arms of the Police who quickly escorted him away from my truck. The whole incident lasted no more than 5 seconds it seems. Tom and I decided to not press charges for assault or trespass on my truck, and let him go. 9 months later, the man filed suit against me for assault. I am not joking. 9 months later. He claims I grabbed his throat. Look at the picture. This picture was taken December 2, 2000. That is the man who claims I was grabbing his throat. My hand is on his chest, not his throat. My hand was NEVER on his throat, nor was it ever near his throat!

Why I made this website Because of the lawsuit, I am forced to endure thousands of dollars of debt that I cannot afford. I have been employed only in temporary positions since 2001 when telecom collapsed, and am deep in debt. This man is trying to use the legal system to get tens of thousands of dollars from me that does not belong to him, and he is doing it by claiming I assaulted him, which I did not do at all.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP?? I am forced to ask, but can you consider donating to help me pay my legal fees? Because of this false charge against me, I am now over $8000 in debt to my lawyer, and we cannot continue until I can pay my bill! Could you please send me $5 or $10 or $20 to help my legal fees? Gave a little through Paypal. Good Luck with your fight against the scum. Who's paying his legal fees? Wish you'd counter sue and press charges. Seems to me you would have been within your rights to throw him physically off of your truck.

Having been in similar situation, I know what you're going through. It's a bitch, but on the good side, you find out who your friends really are.

My country-lawyer only charged $1,500 to get me acquitted, though. The bad part was having to drag all my friendly witnesses into court several times - some of them had to drive 600 miles each way...twice. I hated "abusing" my neighbors that way.

Plus I notice that he is smiling. Funny he should be smiling if he is being choked. I would help but believe me, you don`t what to know the kind of debt I`m in. I wish I was $8000 in debt, but if I were you, I would act as my own attorney and sue him back, or depending where you live, you can go to your nearest law school and ask for volunteers to help you or give you advice. I personally would not spend one cent on a lawyer or on anything to fight a POS like that. The best revenge is to get him to spend the money, not you. The case seems cut and dry if you truly did not choke him. Just get witnesses, whatever photos you have, get as much evidence as you can, and present it like you are on the peoples court with Wapner, truly.

Have you talked to the "New Haven Advocate"? They sound lefty, but they also sound like they hate this thug.

If it was me, I'd be wanting to go looking for my Hayduke books...but I suppose a defendant himself can't get involved in stuff like that.
