In retrospect, "what could he have been thinking" was the wrong phrase to use. I understand what he was thinking, and his action is certainly understandable given the climate. As I stated in later posts, this points to the problem of having cameras on the front lines. Things can easily be taken out of context - or blown out of proportion. If he did anything wrong the military will deal with it, and I feel no sympathy for the terrorist who was killed.
