Justified, if he felt threatened - perhaps by a weapon, perhaps by an IED triggered by the guy on the floor. Why is this reporter competent to judge a combat situation?

Well, either the guy was dead -- and if so, then what does it matter whether or not the Marine shot him? Or he was actually "f*cking faking he's dead" just like the Marine said and if so that is perfidy and he should have been shot on sight. He for damn sure was not attempting to surrender or to show that he was not armed.

So no one told the Defense department that some of these media stations might have other reasons to be along for the fight -

Someone on Fox said that the terrorist used a tactic where they would fake being dead or hide along other terrorist who were dead - then attack the forces. Perhaps this guy thought that was about to happen -

In any event - maybe it wouldn't hurt to have our troops seen by people before they go into battle after being wounded - or give them more time to recover before going back into harms way - Settle the jumps down a little -
