This is not a betrayal. This a political move. Once we have some trust in the hispanic community we can start enforcing these laws. It wouldn't be a problem if the other political party wasn't for complete amnesty.

Whatever does that mean?

With all due respect, I could care less if the hispanics trust us or not.
If they are in this country illegally, send them back at Mexico's expense.
Here is a good idea:
All Americans who are on welfare must take a job that "Americans dont want" in order to keep their welfare. Of course, the welfare pay out will be less since they are working.
That should take care of the expensive lettuce argument.

Why would President Bush change his mind about the illegals
when in a short period of time he will get the Free Trade
Area of the Americas (FTAA) passed. Under this trade
agreement, we will have open borders. I think it behooves
us to check into exactly whats in this trade agreement.

You're out of your mind, We should learn to have trust in the hispanic community, shouldn't they show some loyalty to this country. Imagine sneaking over the border from Iran into Iraq and some entity tells Zarqawi that he should learn trust in you, an American, you would, along with that entity soon be about a head shorter than you were previously. If the checkered pants Republicans, including the newly elected closet Liberal, on this issue doesn't do anything to stem the tide of illegals crossing over into the USA, there should be a revolution abrewing in these here states, and if not, the Country will be lost.

Why should that be the case? This community encourages and harbors illegals yet they are being courted by both major political parties. On top of that, by some estimates 1/4 - 1/3 of this community is illegal to begin with so why to we have to "play nice" with law breakers?

Is the reason why gangs run rampant in our cities because the cops are waiting to gain the punk's trust before enforcing the law? What kind of thinking is that?

I've been told that hispanics are 'natural conservatives'.

Why would they be offended by deporting illegals and enforcing our borders?

Our laws are our laws, period. We do not need anyone's trust nor consent to enforce our laws. If a hispanic (or anyone) does not trust American law, then they should leave the US immediately. And given what I have seen, it is not a lack of trust in the Hispanic community that has brought about this invasion of illegal aliens. It is a lack of respect.

I've lived in Florida and Texas. The majority of Mexicans are Democrats. In Miami, they love Fidel.
