I would bet that far more than 1600 were killed. It's very difficult to do a body count when the enemy has been turned into stains or bite size pieces of dog food.

This is soooo much crap. We are fighting this thing with kid gloves. We are worrying about civilian casualties and NOW I hear our side bragging about the small number of buildings being destroyed? Where is the Napalm, Flame Throwers, DESTROY THEM! Make an example.
What type of example are we making, what lessons are the Iraqis learning, if we go in now and rebuild it better than it was before? Pretty soon we will be seeing on TV, our infantry commanders handing out fists full of American dollars to the Fallujans for the ruined stink hole the called a city.
Burn the rats out.

I don't know where Drudge got his quote, I don't see it anywhere in the article. All I can find is the above.
