Wait! What's this? Communism came to Viet Nam at gunpoint?
I've been told for 45 years that it was a war of American imperialism. That the protesters in Caliphony, Chicago, and Nu York, DC, et al were anti-WAR, not pro-North Vietnamese military (even though they waved around VC flags and carried pictures of Che etc.).
Hm. SO there really wasn't an anti-war movement in the 1960s. From all I've heard, there weren't American housewives protesting AGAINST the Viet Cong begging them to stop killing innocent men, women, and children and to lay down their arms and let the Vietnamese people live in peace.
The other canard they throw out was that Ho was inspired by our Declaration of Independence.
The guy had been a Comintern agent since 1920, he was one of the founding members of the French Communist Party.
