I may watch MTP as I have never seen Mary Matalin and James Carville together.
I'm wondering if he is any less obnoxious when his wife is right there with him.

Not as far as I'm concerned, although she does "handle" him well. Sort-of reminds me of the keepers at the zoo.
She can do a pretty good job of making him behave.
He is subdued when she is next to him. There is no doubt who wears the pants in that household.

I was listening a week or so ago to Mary Matalin when she was on Laura Ingraham's radio show.
Mary said some interesting things about James, that I had never heard before.
He has ADHD, he loves to gamble (Mary said "Viva Las Vegas!") and when Laura said something about sending him a book or something, Mary said, just send him some Maker's Mark (bourbon)!
That would explain some of his wild behavior I suppose.
