we've been lectured for years that if people can get drugs whenever they want and can go hire whores whenever they want legally, then everybody will be happy and peaceful and there will be no crime....

Add it to the list of problems the Dutch have. Living in a community originally and still largely populated by Dutch immigrants, who are largely conservative, I can't imagine these people have similar origins.
