In another thread I guessed at this reality and now it's been confirmed.
For many pro-lifers, we could have a safe, secure society, with a flat tax, reformed tax code, the end of over-regulation, thriving business, a resolution to Social Security and Medicare that not only works but maximizes freedom and choice, we could end the hold of public schools on education, etc etc but if we had abortion, even in the first trimester, the pro-lifers would rather go with the status quo plus an abortion ban.

This is the reason it will fall on deaf ears - people simply don't comprehend 45 MILLION + DEAD , they are too concerned with their own pocketbook. We surpassed the totals of the Nazi death camps years ago, we are now closing in on Stalin's Soviet gulags, history will place us in the same category and justly so. Perhaps when it is their child or grandchild in the abortuarty dumpster they will care, til then self-interest rules the day.
