Prissy? LOL...
I was simply commenting on your comment.
Why do you feel the need to downplay and marginalize the role of pro-lifers and evangelicals?
'Tis a strange thing...
You may need for that to be true, but it's not.
If you were pro-life it would be clear that support of abortionists is more evil than supporting islamofacists. Either you are with us or you are with the evil enemy.
We have the guns to defend ourselves. If those we elect don't defend us, we can take it into our own hands.
Babies don't have guns. Defend them today against the terrorists that have been reigning for 30 years within our own country!
"And what makes you think they are not?"
Specter and his remarks on the day after the election.
"You should expend as much time changing the hearts of women as you do trashing the GOP."
Since you don't know me, you have no clue what I do. What you must do is show me where I spent any time "trashing the GOP", or retract that claim. (Or be branded as one who will lie about other people in cheap attempts to score meaningless points.)
It is disgusting that you think that the lives of 1.3 million innocent children per year are simply a political football for you and the Republican Party to toss about.
Ku, you have to understand that there are people on this site that just LIKE being miserable; always have to have something to carp about.
For me personally, I never expect anybody in office to agree with my every living breathing thought.
Lots of people have been demanding things from George W. Bush for five years that he never even promised.
Try reading more carefully, we are NOT saying "do what I say or else", we are saying "do what you said you will do or else", a very different thing.
Don't even try that crap with me.
I am perfectly capapble of thinking more than one thing at one time, a concept that is no doubt foreign to myopic voters.
"Michael Barone is one of the most respected political "statisticians" in this day and age."
AND he's Pro-Life to boot! Good guy, that Michael is.
GOP Platform Is Broadly Pro-life
Culture of Life Foundation
Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004
A platform robust with pro-life planks was passed yesterday by delegates during the opening session of the Republican National Convention being held this week at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The 94-page document, "A Safer World, A More Hopeful Tomorrow," calls for constitutional amendments banning abortion and gay "marriage," a comprehensive ban on cloning, continued denial of federal money for research on new embryonic stem cell lines, abstinence education and other measures that bolster the sanctity of life and the traditional family.

OK..but don't forget to 'play nice' on the thread..Remember, the LAST time you got suspended, I offered to serve it for you..LOL..that thread was a hoot...
LG, if gay marriage issues had not been on ballots around the country, we would be trying to figure out how to block socialist Kerryisms from the White House for the next four years.
What's your point? I haven't denied one word of that.
I'm here discussing the WARNING from the PRO-LIFERS (as if you speak for all of us) to the GOP.
>pro-lifers so maniacal about this one issue they'd accept a rule by Communism so long as the Commies banned abortion<
Abortion IS a form of Communism, Skywalk.
>abortion not the same as gulags, extermination camps...<
Maybe not extermination camps, but extermination rooms rather than delivery rooms.
Oh, I know; people on these threads hit the abuse button like it's crack.
"Either you are with us or you are with the evil enemy."
So what you'r essentially saying is that anyone with a differing viewpoint on abortion than you is your enemy. That's simply not true. Some of us just have other issues that we take into consideration on election day. For example, oh, I don't know...maybe the fact that 3000 people died AT THE SAME TIME a while back and there are many more to follow if we don't act now! No one is marginalizing you. You are the ones issueing threats and ultimatums.
My wife is Jewish...hardly evangelical.
She was opposed to gay marriage.
No one can claim title to this victory.

Combatting evil is priority #1.
Abortion is more evil than Saddams torture chambers (which was extremely evil by the way). The reason Bush is in Iraq is two words "combatting evil". He will combat the evil of abortion.
Moving in with my folks for a while because the economy takes a dip holds no concern for us compared to EVIL.
If the GOP misses this one be prepard to move in with your folks!
While I agree with your position on abortion 100%, I find it amazing that you think it is smarter to sit at home and not vote rather than cast a vote for third party candidate like Peroutka? I don't get it, and don't think God will either. Don't ever stop voting, if you do, then your voice will be meaningless in America. And yes, I proudly voted for Michael A. Peroutka!
Truth being stranger than fiction though, in 15 years or so who's to say, if roles won't be reversed? Republicans didn't always draw their inspiration from the common folk.
I'm really hoping for a democrat revival. In the interest of our Country, it's needed, big time!
I'm basicially with you in that the pro-life position is the main reason I ventured over to the Republican side.
Taxes are important, but everyone has their hand in the cookie jar, and nearly all citizens have supported and taken advantage of pooled tax revenues. It's a weak incentive for me at least.
I also find the Republicans attitude towards the environment to be tilted too much towards the business side of the issue. It is a tough issue though, because tough environmental standards can definitely lead to a loss of jobs.
I live in NY, I had to hold my nose and vote for Pataki. The only reason I originally voted for him was to get Mario out, as he was getting ready to nationalize the utilties in our State.
But the State is still in serious financial trouble, and Upstate is dying a slow, miserable, somber death. Shumer actually has tried to bring some industry and businesses to some of the surrounding towns. If he runs against Pataki, I'm voting for him, plain and simple because he has extended himself to try to help our part of the State.
To the best of my knowledge, Pataki hasn't done nearly as much for Upstate. Party means nothing.
