You'd dispute that 2 + 2 = 4, asking why it couldn't equally likely be 5 or 3 or some other even more cool number like pi.
Good night.
Oh no, to say we will only vote if you don't betray us, is not "removing ourselves from the political process." You made us promises. Now deliver or face the consequences at the ballot box.
Try not to break your arm patting yourself on the back, preacher. We wouldn't want you to drown while swimming around in Lake Uoweus Bigtime.
Hildy, who makes no secret of her passion for abortion rights.
I've only read a fraction of this thread, but as I've said, I've been reading you for years. I find it hard to believe that you consider yourself some kind of pro-lifer. You're a pro-abort's dream.
A sad amen.
God never required a vote.
"You're exactly right; and how would you like it if 50 million of us tried to tell you to shut up?"
FACE laws do exactly that. The fixed perimeters and floating bubbles restricting free speech. And they grew out of Roe.
Worse yet, pro-abortion advocates try to force me to *speak* in the way they want - threatening me with malpractice and civil suits if I won't advocate for abortion.
If I were advocating for slavery, I'd bet that at least 50 million would tell me to "shut up."
Well said. We are in complete agreement.
The War on Terror is not morally equivalent to the American Holocaust.
One is being perpetrated on us by foreign powers. The other, we are perpetrating as a nation upon the unborn. This is evil we as a nation are committing on a daily basis. To argue that we are an innocent and morally pure nation before a just and holy God is deluded and mindless.
We have blood on our hands. We are the guilty nation.
All sorts of political pipers will have to be paid if Specter sits and then presumes to channel the voice of the entire Senate to President Bush. Count on it.
God had an angel mark the heads of the Israelites who mourned over the unrighteousness in the land, so they would be spared the judgment. There weren't a whole lot.
So if I post to her, I'm "aligning" myself with her? (BTW, I have no problem aligning myself with her; we have had our disagreements before, but she seems fair to me.)
Good to know; since I don't want to "align" myself with you, I won't be posting to you anymore.
Amen.
Bears repeating:
"If the "Christian" West doesn't eliminate atrocity it doesn't deserver to survive."
And there is a misconception on this thread that needs to be addressed. Some are saying that for us to stay home and not vote Republican on this one issue makes us "disloyal" or "false" conservatives. But I would put it in more starker terms, much like you have. We put abortion as an issue above America continuing as a nation. So I guess we're not good Americans either.
Leonard Ravenhill had it right in the 1960's when he wrote that the "prophet in his day is accused of being unpatriotic" when he points out the sins of the nation. This is where many on FR or within the evangelical Republican club don't get it. They confuse loyalty to a movement or a nation or even mom and apple pie to loyalty to God. There is no comparison. America is not a "Christian" nation. She is a nation that has lost it's way and it is not unpatriotic to point out her flaws (and even if it were, no matter, we're called to followers of Christ not flag-worshippers).
I'll let the President speak for himself and what he ought to do:
George W. Bush: The next president should set this goal for America: Every child, born and unborn, protected in law and welcomed into life. Thats what the next president ought to do. The question is which one of us can lead America to appreciate life.

You do that; and please notice he did NOT say overturn Roe v. Wade.
Well what exactly does "protected in law" mean then?
I guess Specter could always argue "Not protected according to Scottish Law".
I'm turning in; will be interesting to see some of the replies tomorrow (the Lord's day at that).
Okay. "protected in law."
