Well GOP if you really want to burn 15M of your supporters without which you will not see the office of dogcatcher, let alone President, for a good long time if ever... BE OUR GUEST.
Sorry. Not reading past there; if that's the best you've got, I'm not playing.
I need to take some time off and do a real close look at all the threads since the election. It would be nice to see just how many base(s) elected the President, how many individual groups and/or people he owes the election to exclusively, and how many of them are demanding their way or else?
But he didn't.
The way I see it, we got rid of Daschle's overt obstructionism, there's no sense in tolerating Specter's covert obstructionism when we have such a big win to launch from.
No way he could deliver on a policy like that without gutting Roe.
Oh, it's WAY more than claimed they kept Bush 41 out of the White House for a second term!
15M. Well that would give him a 45M buffer. Okay.
:-)
You must not have been paying attention for the last five years; George W. Bush says what he means and does what he says.
He doesn't need YOU interpreting his words; he says them himself; if you're counting on him gutting Roe, you might as well change your registration now.
Got a direct line to Arlen?
Yeah, I know quite a few there as well. They're pro-life too, part of the GOP majority, and in about the same percentages as in the GOP generally.
Pro-death Republicans have their meetings in a phone booth most everywhere.
Hey, EV. Good to see you too.
He's heading toward 62 million as we type.
This many people don't just go nowhere. They start third parties.
Well, in what cloud-cuckoo-land do you see him being able to make good on this promise in a Roe-ful world?
Yes, the last resort of those who want to eliminate themselves from the political process. Now there's a real step forward.
Exhibit A of your nastiness.
No, I never said that 60 million "went to the polls because of pro-life issues." I know that I voted pro-life (and that I campaigned for the President on that point), and believe that a large number, if not a majority, of those 60 million are prolife.
If a blatant error such as the one Specter made last week is ignored, and because of that error, we get more of the same (i.e., "Scottish law defence," "Roe is the law of the land") when he can effect the outcome, our Party is not using its power effectively. Our elected representatives cannot expect to gain or maintain support from the voters if they support unwise politicians who can't be quiet for a couple of weeks.
I'm sure that your vote would not be affected if the Republican Party managed to overcome Roe, would it?
The point is they don't stay 15 million. They grow. You think Libertarians are a nightmare, you ain't see nothing yet.
If Roe was gutted by the GOP, Howlin would vote Green.
