Images from the Battle of Fallujah (lest we forget or take it for granted)

This thread honors the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, and reminds us of why we here at home can go about our daily business in peace. Street-to-street is the toughest type of warfare. Air cover is being flown by pilots from the USS John F. Kennedy, as well as the U.S. Air Force from bases in the area.

Arizona Carolyn,
I relate to this story so well. I remember for some reason seeing him mentioned at the Marine Corps.'s OIF site section back in late April of this year. As I read through your thread, I think of the few scouts that where in my nephews's scout troop. They fit the same profile. Truly wonderful young men with very bright futures. I think of the ones from this troop that eventually joined the Marine Corps. my nephew being one of them. So young, so alive, so full of dreams to do good things, honorable things, most often within the guidelines our Lord sets forth for all to follow.
In the last years changes in human events, I thank God for allowing one of them to not be accepted by the Marines due to a last minute discrepancy in his health record. At the same time I am quite proud of my nephew who enlisted in the Marines and has completed on tour of duty at the "triangle of death", and has returned for a brief visit home and will going back to Iraq in about three months with a new unit.
What I read hear truly hits home. It seems to be over and over the story of honest hard working most often God believing men and some women that truly believe freedom is not won by idle and meaningless political manuevors, but by resolve, committment in a cause, and the willingness to serve a nation that still can in many respects say it is one nation under God indivisible with liberty for all.
We all so be so proud and in gratitude both for the older leaders that guide these young warriors and to those warriors of all ages that are willing to put their lives in harms way for our country, and for what principals it stands for. America is to blessed in so many ways. We have been spared so much misery due to the many attributes God provided us with. So many people just don't seem to get the point, that regardless of how evil must be dealt with there are always those that are willing to serve in harms way to protect our way of living. It is my earnest hope that as our population see more and more how honorable our men and women serve this great nation and bastion of freedom, that they will throw aside their political dogma and prejudices
and simply pay honor to those that are willing to serve in harms way. This is one of my personal prayers.

"Thank you for the reminder. You are absolutely right that the result is another mission success for the forces of good!"
Thanks for the heads up. At this point in time if most people in the USA and other lands where freedom is truly cheerished do not see the battle between good and evil and do not acknowlege that one side is on the side of good, verse the other side being on the dark side, then we all have truly sunk to a level that is most alarming. Let us all hope that our somewhat allies in Europe, more Muslim dominated peoples and others, can see that America, Britain and the other "willing" coalition forces truly mean to rid the world of a lot of evil FOR ALL NATIONS SAKES.
I wish to say a lot more but I will shut up! I tend to get to verbose, sorry fellow freepers. Bless each of you.

His story -- and others like it -- are what we should be reading on the front pages of our nations papers.

Seeing these pics of our troops in action leaves me that much more in awe of those young men. I've been following the battle in Fallujah as closely as possible and am proud of what's been accomplished in so short a time.

My prayers continue for our troops and the Iraqis fighting with them for their safety and for success.

I'm not questioning her patriotism or her worth, J; both are beyond reproach. I'm just saying that her *physical endurance and stamina* could be a problem for the others in a very heated situation, as compared to a man's. (Yeah, I know; lousy sentence, but it's 5:15am and time to go back to sleep) I feel women are better served in support positions.

It's not a woman, BTW; I saw the video of that still, and it's a young man.

click 'enter' and go to the 2 links for fallujah fighting. awesome videos... pass it on before it's gone.

DOn't feel sorry for these goats. Their "masters" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) aren't around to "service" them any longer. And the animals feel much safer now.
