Oh come on folks. Because of one ruling this guy is now tarred as pro-abortion? Get a grip. We need an attorney general who will be tough in combatting terrorism like Ashcroft was. The AG will have very little to do with abortion but EVERYTHING to do with whether or not we're kept safe. And Gonzalez has a stellar record of supporting Ashcroft's strong policies of keeping terrorists in check. That's what's important, not another lame-brained abortion vendetta based on little more than one controversial ruling. Let's get past fanaticism and blind ideological straightjacketing or we'll end up like the Dems. and unable to win elections.

Yup, because he interpreted the Texas parental-consent law as the Legislature wrote it and didn't legislate from the bench.

I can deal with my enemies. God save me from my "friends."

"We need an attorney general who will be tough in combatting terrorism like Ashcroft was." 1.5 million murders by dismemberment via abortion is the worst terrorism in the world.

"The AG will have very little to do with abortion but EVERYTHING to do with whether or not we're kept safe."
What about keeping children in the womb safe--huh?!!!! One out of every 4 pregnancies is ended by abortion. The womb is the most dangerous place in America--literally. But in some peoples book the unborn are garbage--cause that's where 25% percent of them end up.

NICE GOING MIKE!!!!!!!

Not true. The AG represents the government in court, decides which cases (abortion related, for instance) the government will weigh in on. The AG helps decide who gets nominated for federal judgeships. The AG decides whether to go after pro-lifers for "RICO" violations. The AG also has a host of civil rights responsibilities, and if (like Gonzales) the AG believes in racial preferences, that means the department could follow in the footsteps of Clinton's.
