Ahh Yes, The "Intellectuals" " What the intellectual craves above all else is to be taken seriously, to be treated as a decisive force in shaping history. He is far more at home in a society that weighs his every word and keeps close watch on his attitudes than in a society that cares not what he says or does. He would rather be persecuted than ignored. - Eric Hoffer -

Skipped 'college' and joined the A.F. ASVAB scores highest they'd seen in a while. Got 2 AS degrees at night.
Have worked as a computer programmer on mainframes (none of this script kiddie crap that's being done now), network engineer, DBA, independent consultant, etc.
World traveller, musician, handyman, and have recently opened my own motorcycle customizing business after giving up the IT profession.
And yes this conservative is an artist and has volunteered his time at the local art museum helping whiny liberals set up exhibits and fixing things around the place.
And I like croissants. (Flame suit on.)

BSME from a suprisingly good State College, after being thrown out of several really good private ones. Discovered that the Army taught me more about being a supervisor than any Managemant course could, never looked back, though at this very late date I have trouble adding 2+2 and coming up with same answer twice.
My main claim to fame is being thrown out of more good schools than most people have attended.

Rotflmao. I don't know my IQ, but my SAT's were better than Bill Clinton's. By several hundred points, unrecentered. Nuff said.
BA. Can get by in each of the languages that Tarayza speaks, never studied none on 'em 'ceptin' one, jest picked 'em up, knocking about. And raised three kids to responsible adulthood, but spent a lot of time knocking about.
lived quite a little
learned quite a lot.
differences without
distinction
just a matter of degrees.

I received my education from the University of Hard Knocks.
I might be a red neck, but I am not ignorant.
Many of my friends are highly educated, but I am not a respecter of persons.
I know alot of college educated idiots who refuse to learn.

Barely got out of High School. Joined the USAF at age 17. Graduated U. of Maryland Magna cum Laude. Degree in Political Science, and have 22 years experience in the "foreign service." I will, however, defer to Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow in matters of foreign policy; I wait for their take before I take a position.
