I think you are way too optimistic. Kerry came way too close to winning. The man had no core beliefs, never presented any ideas for his administration (I have a secret plan for that doesn't count) and was just an unpleasant person with anti-charisma. He should have been stomped on. I didn't expect a Reagan 84 landslide, but it should have been at least a Bush 88 comfortable victory. If two things had happened differently I believe that he would have picked up a couple more swing states and had been elected.

First, what would have happened if Rather's forgeries had been better? All it would have taken was digging up a real typewriter from some junk closet at CBS and type the "TANG memos" instead of laser printing them. There would have been no Buckhead pointing out how bad the forgeries were. That would have gotten some swing voters believing that the president was a draft dodger and didn't complete his air guard service.

Second, if the NY Times kept their trap shut and allowed CBS to release the lost explosives story on the Sunday before the election we wouldn't have had sufficient time to refute it. There would have been no arguments on whether the explosives were there at all, no time for army officers to be interviewed, and not time to point out that we had already destroyed 400,000 tons so the questionable explosives would have only been 0.1% of that anyway.

We dodged a bullet on this. Next time the main stream media will be even more biased. If you think they had their lips permanently attatched to Kerry's backside, just wait until Hillary runs. They will test their forgeries and lies instead of just expecting them to pass without question. Also the Dem vote fraud machine will be kicked up a gear in 2008. Man's eternal desire to live off someone else's labor will continue and the Democrat party will be there to feed it and feed off of it.

All true. But the shameful behavior of the MSM has further driven down their credibility. The explosives story, for example, did far less damage even in the early hours than such a story would have done 4 years ago. That's because the MSM has lost credibility. Their viewership and credibility will continue to shrink and be less of a factor in 2006 and 2008. That's because they will grow ever more transparent and desperate as they continue to lose.
