You write that as if being a day laborer is a bad thing. I bet you don't mind that YOUR home was built by day laborers. The world IS about balance as in nature. So not everyone wants or needs to be in white collar occupations or validation that they are status worthy to those around them.
A former co-worker of mine had no interest in who eventually became her husband when they first met. She found out he was a cobbler. Figured he was a minimum wage loser. When she found out he actually made a hell of a living as a cobbler she took more interest in him.
