Sounds like the Turks are trying to pretend they are Europeans in order to ingratiate themselves to the people who employ most of their excess laborers. I totally favor a greater Kurd nation. So far the Kurds seem far better than any of the pissant nations who are trying to suppress them, including the perfidious Turks who are, as usual, trying to save their musty butts. .
It won't work.
Although Europeans aren't exactly fond of the American government at the moment, most of them have a pretty clear sense of the incompatibility of Islam with the Western world. Europe's governments may foolishly decide to allow Turkey into the EU, but their populations will never approve.
