This has NOTHING to do with the First Amendment. The only way that this would be a Fourth Amendment issue would be in the case of a random government check or if the government required your dealer to report the readouts from the black box to the government each time you went in for a tune-up. And then there would have to be a prosecution that arises out of that data.

So how do you feel about government regulation of who can sit in the cockpit of the plane that you just boarded? I certainly think that I should be free to rent a plane and fly it if I want. Or more to this point, how do you feel about these same black boxes in airplanes?

Freedom is not the ability to do whatever you want with impunity.
