I live in Weld County, which is north of Denver and includes the city of Greeley, the proud host of President Bush a couple weeks ago. I understand a democrat has never been elected to a county wide office in Weld County.

Unfortunately, how wrong you are.

It had been 16 years since a dem was in office...

But the Dems pulled off a good campaign, reluctantly, I admit...and took over the House and Senate in Denver, including the District 50 seat.

Sickening.

I grew up in Boulder. Mom & Dad, aunts and uncles all graduated from BHS, under the shadow of the Mini & Jake statue. They've since all left Boulder, moved out with the normal folks east of Longmont in Weld County. I've always said the amount of socialism/liberalism in any community is directly proportional to the amount of official signage on display. During my last visit, I officially knew that my hometown had been over-run with socialists after driving to the top of Flagstaff Mountain, past all the no-parking signs and being instructed to pay $2.00 to park in the designated parking spaces. Promptly pulled over, found a ponderosa pine to water, "forgot" to pay my $2.00, and drove back to Baseline Road shaking my head in disgust.
