Parris Island, Camp Lejeune, Fort Gordon (MP School), MCB Norfolk, NAS Millington, NAS Oceana, MCAS Cherry Point, NAS Fallon, Quantico (Staff NCO Academy), San Diego (Recruiter School), Laffayette Indiana (Recruiter).

Never experienced any of this crap outside a bar I shouldn't have been in anyway.

I was even treated with the respect a military man deserves on many occasions.

I can't see how I could have been so far out of the loop.

NAS Millington? I was discharged there on 17 Oct '68. One fine day when I got off work early, I went shopping for a college in Claremont. I was in uniform. No spit, no garbage, just hard looks and bad words. And yes, a couple of people called me a baby killer.

I am shocked that you would disbelieve people on this thread. Look at the current 'peace protesters' and how they act now! Heck - we (at a pro-gun rts rally) had things thrown at us, and people jeering and yelling as well.

Considering that our culture is nowhere near the way it was in the 60s and 70s (thank heavens), I don't find this unbelievable in the least.
