WETBACK is the term used by LEGAL Mexican immigrants to describe the ILLEGAL border crossers.

For the lesser-educated leftists-in-hiding here, WetBack refers to their getting wet by swimming across the Rio Grande (Big River) which lines a portion of the border between Texas and Mexico (a foreign country).

a LEGAL Mexican Immigrant will take that as an extreme insult if you call him a "wetback". They know the meaning of HONOR.

I know what a wetback is, and likely knew long before you did, since I live in Texas.

"Wetback" is a derogatory term, no matter who uses it. That's why Belling is off the air.

Worth repeating . . . so I did . . . but we should not forget those of Mexican descent whose forebears lived north of the Rio Grande long before the river became an international border.

I grew up overseas in a primarily military community. Wetback, greaser, you know the list, were all part of the teasing, hazing and sometimes downright meanness. It wasn't right then and it is not right now. The guy should have coined his own word to describe those who illegally cross our borders.

That "portion" being 100%.
