Youve probably heard of the Democratic Underground , the ultimate liberal cocoon, where Democrats let their darkest, ugliest feelings out into the open. Well, it turns out that Elizabeth Edwards may be an ardent DUer! Heres a message posted by someone who purports to be her (it seems quite credible):
You know that I read DU and have for quite some time, long before any of you knew my name. I really appreciate the support you have given me on this latest hurdle and before. It means a lot to me and to John.
Now that I have more time, I will post some, too. But today I want to share something inspiring, part of a letter from Thomas Jefferson. This is from the new Bernstein biography of Jefferson. Jefferson sent the letter in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act:
A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake.
Reign of witches?? Is this how the wannabe second-lady sees the majority of Americans?
This is far worse than, say, Lynne Cheney posting at Free Republic and decrying Kedwards as commies. The people at DU are the most rabid ultra-lefties and routinely say things about Republicans that, if any politician said it, would end his career.
Elizabeth Edwards even proves to the nutty DUers that its really her .
I need a broom, now, I guess...
...anyone got wood?
Does anyone have a link to the thread Chris Heinz posted over there?
I understand you but I can not stand to go there. I get so mad that I could strangle whoever wrote what I am reading.
Life is too short to get really mad now. (g)

Remember the stink the MSM raised when it found out Notra Trulock(sp?) was a FReeper? Cokie Roberts all but said it was reason to disqualify his whistleblowing against the Clinton White House. Why are we not seeing similar outrage over a Veep candidate's wife hanging out at DUh? /sarcasm
I woouldn't be surprised if 50% of their rabid posters are actually FReepers putting crazy ideas into their heads and inciting the malcontent over there!
