John Edwards was busy getting to know in a biblical sense John Kerry, all this time. She sought out DU for companionship.

I like this other quote from Jefferson which I think is appropriate:

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

* Notes on the State of Virginia (1781-1785) Query 18

I wondered where BS came up with this quote. . .she and her friends surely do not read Thomas Jefferson for sure.

I can see DU as a place for the few cracker-puppy Libs who don't have a clue and see conspiracy's everywhere.

But to know that the wife of a candidate for VP is there is way more than disturbing. It is scary.

Was Jefferson Nostrodamus?

That what I was thinking. The statement has that Nostrodamus flavor to it, and it is dead on about Hillary. Although I am not certain she has completely passed by yet, but we can hope. I think Hillary may try to do another fly by.

Did anybody notice Chris Heinz posted there a few nights ago... I tried to link it (he used some profanity to describe the President) but the link was blocked by FR.

First, who the hell cares about Elizabeth Edwards???

451 viewings of this thread, as I type this. Not counting yours. :)

One of the very real pleasures of this wonderful site is being able to join in with countless other likeminded FReepers, and group-kick unfortunate and/or humiliated liberals -- like dodge ball, only online. Allow us our small pleasures, please. :)

Streisand talking about witches???

It takes one to know one!!

(in her next concert, perhaps she should stop lip syncing, and prove to the world that she can no longer sing)

Could pass that on to Drudge and/or BS personal web site which is available in 'her story' (per Drudge Report)/. . .

Of course, the Dems quoting Thomas Jefferson is like Moore 'using' Orwell for his propaganda. . .'they are it'; and they do not know it.

It's interesting that Liberals select Jefferson to embrace from among all the Founding Fathers. Jefferson was quite French in his predilections and would likely not be a Christian as most of us understand the term. It is from Jefferson that the term "Separation of Church and State" came -- not from the Constitution. Liberals don't like to read Madison, who wrote the Constitution, or Hamilton (who, along with Madison, wrote the Federalist papers). Both of these founding giants were unabashed in their reverence for God and in invoking his name. Jefferson simply suits the Liberals' motives.

"I really appreciate the support you have given me on this latest hurdle..."

Would this include all of those supportive posts that hoped Laura Bush would get breast cancer?

There's another thread over there, in which Elizabeth Edwards comments on the Ohio loss. She writes that she didn't expect it because blahblahblah...and yet...blahblah... Something in that "and yet" tells me they're not going to challenge.

For starters, I don't believe for a minute that Elizabeth Edwards would show up on a trashy little boulevard like DU under her own name.

For another, give the woman a break. She's got breast cancer, for crying out loud. There are women on this forum with breast cancer, and men married to them. Cancer doesn't know politics. Let the DU people spew invective.

As conservatives, we can treat our opponents like human beings, even when the opposition disgraces itself so shamefully as to write under the name of a woman in the grip of serious illness.
