Just for the sake of pretty silly argument, keep in mind a rather big chunk of the U.S. military assets are in California.

I think they would be a security risk for us so either we would have to defend them too or we will have to defeat them to get them in line. Defeating these cowards would be easy. Better to do it early then later. Hopefully we can continue to defeat them at the ballot box but if not we might have to resort to other measures.
