Not all of us in the Blue States are Blue

Posted on 11/08/2004 2:52:36 PM PST by California Red

I'm a first time poster here from one of the most liberal communities in California. I wanted to thank you all for perhaps unknowingly keeping at least this conservative from insanity over the last year or so and to remind you that even in the blue counties in the blue states, at least 25% of us are celebrating the re-ascention of Bush to the White House.

I've been the target of so much hate in my own community that I turned to reading your supportive site in lieu of my own local forum. I know these radical liberals that are now degrading those who live between the coasts and believe me, they are NOT what they profess to be. They are the most intolerant, bigoted, self-centered and self-righteous people in America. I know, because I live with them.

Red state VERY BLUE county here (Broward county FL). Lots of unhappy faces as I drive by with my BUSH sticker on my car.

I'm grateful for FR too and as soon as I get some extra money a check is on the way (hopeful for Christmas bonus).

You're in the greatest state of the greatest country on earth. We have more guns, and more people serving in the military than any state. We've had more die that are from California fighting in Iraq than any state. We have the biggest harbors, and the biggest, most hard core conservatives in the country, and we have the best looking flag to match, not to mention weather to kill for. I guess that's what attracts all these leftist from out of state, like Gray Davis and Barbra Boxer, both from the east coast.

We used to live in Davis. It's a toxic culture...seriously. We've seen our Republican friends that we left behind in Davis become increasingly wimpified over the years.

I was at the Metropolitan Horse show in Manhatten last night. M. Bloomberg was sitting next to me talking to a young woman. He was saying that Bush received more
NYC votes against Kerry then he did against Gore.He also said that newly registered republicans had been way up.
Bloomberg's daughter went on to win just about every class she rode in.

If your community is a "Nuclear-Free", "Hate-Free" zone.. if they've changed the community Christmas tree to a "holiday tree"...if they've passed resolutions to ban toy guns, impeach Bush, condemn the Iraq War, to ban fluoridation...if they told the Navy not to send any military ships into the bay and every tree that grows on your property is part of the "urban forest" and can't be touched, you and I might be neighbors :)

I pitied anyone in the Bay area before Nov 2... the 49ers and the Raiders are not exactly living up to their legacies, and the Giants can't get into the playoffs even with Bonds making history. Tsk-tsk-tsk

Yes, welcome CR. I'm up in the Sierra Nevada in a red county surrounded by red counties. If we could just get the San Andreas Fault (or is it Bush's Fault - sorry) to do it's thing and drop the coastal area into the sea (after you moved, of couse) we'd be better off....

What I want to know is how the heck did Kerry win Alpine and Mono Counties?

Hey the Sharks went pretty far in the playoffs, that's something. :-)

Oh wait ... NHL is in lockout. Never mind.

I live in a rural area of Glenn County, in the mountains about 50 miles NW of Sacramento. My nearest neighbors live about a mile away and I haven't seen them for about two years since I told them I was from SF.

Hmmm. Sounds like Santa Cruz.

Thank you for your post. I live in the heart of liberal Manhattan and I know just how you feel. (There are some conservative Wall Street types and radio talk show hosts here though, plus The New York Sun.)

Welcome! My bro commutes between LA to DC, and is a huge Bush fan.

I tried to keep bail money ready at all times during the campaign.

Hey Ya! Dropping a line from behind enemy lines here in the Peoples Republic of Hollywierd, Ca.

Can't think of a better time to live in LA after that Texas A** Whoopin! I'm still answering my telephone "4 More Years Incorporated."! And then of course my home answering service says... "Good afternoon, you've reached the John Kerry Lawn Sign Removal Co. can I have your pick up address..."

Bwahahahaaaa!

I'm also in a blue state in a red county (Waukesha County, WI). We did have an awesome turn-out, 97%, with 67% for Bush. Go us! :^)

If Milwaukee and Mad-city were not run by the blue-sters, we'd be in good shape, I'm convinced of it.
