somebody say cheesehead???

I remember Sen. Lloyd Benson (Dukakis VP Nominee) using the term "wetbacks" several times in a speech, yet it was ignored. Unfortunately, he was liberal, and therefore immune.

I saw the smear campaign on all the cheesehead news networks last night. The networks carrying him will most likely bow to the pressure of the Hispanic groups and launch Belling. I saw the protests on the tube last night and half the people there were white liberal activists so you know where this is going. This is a full throttle left wing kill job.

They've been mentioning his "racially insensitive comment" at each break. His show has been substituted by Sean Hannity's. WISN is a Clear Channel station.

Like they don't have names for `White Boys. Remember the Fighting Whiteys from Colorado? Some Hispanic school named their lame basketball team that name thinking they were insulting Whiteys. They couldn't sell enough shirts to the White Boys.
Belling is a good guy. Give him a break. Or we'll call in the Fighting Whiteys.

This is being discussed on the Wisconsin page. Go there also for email addresses for WISN and ClearChannel.

I also heard his apology last week, but there was a protest planned for last Friday outside the studio. I have WISN on right now and don't know what is going on. This wouldn't be an issue if he were a democrat.
Of course what he did was much worse than those baboons who sabotaged the leased GOP vans in Milwaukee. That story has dropped off the face of the planet...sort of like the Sandy Berger stolen docs.

Two more curious things -
- It was an unnamed voice making the on-air announcement, not Jerry Bott (general manager and often fill-in host).
- Speaking of fill-ins, instead of Bott or another local host (often Mark Neumann), the tape-delay broadcast of Sean Hannity was moved up 5 hours.
Methinks the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and their hate squads won big. Side note; it was Belling that broke the story that the then-afternoon Journal was killing off the morning Sentinel and moving its operations to the morning. As a result, they slapped on the Sentinel part of the name at the last second to spite him.

I don't think they'd can him for that. I haven't been following the story, but Belling is one of WISN's biggest draws. If he was doing his show today, it would probably have twice the ratings.

I sent an email. I will not listen to WISN unless Belling is reinstated. I can get Rush on another station. Hope he was not fired.

Jay Severin in Boston uses terms like wetback and crimalian all the time and nothing ever happens to him.

Here's the URL for Clear Channel. Let's flood them with protests about them bowing to these trumped-up complaints by taking Mark off the air.

I'm livid! Let WISN and Clearchannel hear it from us all.
Call Carson-Wagonlit (sp?) and other sponsors that pulled their ads from Belling and let them know they're in for a world of hurt.

Ah...can't say 'wetback' on the air, but the left can spew their anti-Christian, anti-Southron blather 24/7 on the airwaves and in the papers without ANY consequence whatsoever?

I tuned in when I got in the car shortly after 4:00PM to hear some blather about how WISN doesn't condone racial remarks...bla...bla...bla...and that Mark was off the air. I listened to classic rock the rest of the way home. In a few minutes I'll call the station and tell them what spineless liberal wimps they are.

Tried calling the station, I got it to ring, but was automatically cut off after a while. Never got through.

It's not yet officially a firing, but the city of Milwaukee, the Latino community and the rest of the media are pushing for that final step now that ClearChannel caved.

With all the true racist comments that go on shows like Michael McGee's show, Bellings comment was mild, not a good idea, but not the bomb shell it has been made out to be.
This whole thing is not about WHAT he said, it is about WHO said it.
