Iran says will retaliate if nuclear plants hit

TEHRAN - Iran threatened on Monday to strike back at Israel or any other country that attacked its nuclear facilities.

U.S. and Israeli officials accuse Iran of seeking to develop atomic bombs under cover of a civilian nuclear program. Iran denies the charges saying it only intends to produce electricity from nuclear power plants.

"If Israel or any other country attacks any site in Iran, we know no limits to threaten their interests," Deputy Revolutionary Guards Commander Mohammad-Baqer Zolqadr said.

"That means anywhere in the world, within their borders or outside it," he told reporters on Monday on the sidelines of an anti-U.S. conference in Tehran.

Israeli warplanes successfully destroyed the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981. Iran has stationed anti-aircraft batteries around its nuclear plants and built many of its facilities underground.

Iranian officials have also warned they can strike back at Israel with its medium-range Shahab-3 missile, which can also hit U.S. military bases in the Gulf.

Zolqadr denied Iran was developing nuclear weapons, saying the Islamic state preferred to rely on a volunteer militia force, which he said numbered 10 million, to defend the country.

Earlier the commander addressed high-school students at a conference entitled "The World Without America."

"The world without America is a world without oppression, without terror, without invasion, without massacre," he said in a speech that catalogued U.S. "crimes" ranging from the massacre of native Americans to the atom bomb on Hiroshima.

A video clip played for the audience showed gruesome pictures of injured children lying in hospital beds in Iraq, which U.S.-led forces invaded last year.

Zolqadr said an Iraq-style invasion of Iran was out of the question thanks to Iran's growing military might.

"We have assessed the American armed forces in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan ... they are not unknown or mystical to us any more," he told reporters after his speech.

Iranian and EU officials said on Sunday a deal had been struck between Iran, Britain, Germany and France after two days of talks in Paris that could see Tehran avert UN Security Council sanctions over its disputed nuclear program.

""We have assessed the American armed forces in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan ... they are not unknown or mystical to us any more," he told reporters after his speech.

But then again, your country only shows biased news and not really what are military is capable of doing to your sorry country. Enjoy your delusion! Remember to look over your shoulder at all times...the Eagle has landed.

With dogs, or bees. Or the dogs with bees in their mouth and when they bark, they shoot bees at you.

From what I have read/heard, the general Iranian public HATES their government, and want to be more like Americans. It rings true, to me. Maybe we shouldn't be so fast on the nuke trigger on these guys. I think the population there would be a lot more friendly to an American liberation force than the Iraqis were.
My 2 cents.

"Iranian and EU officials said on Sunday a deal had been struck between Iran, Britain, Germany and France after two days of talks in Paris that could see Tehran avert UN Security Council sanctions over its disputed nuclear program."

- This is a deal initiated by France to try and tie the US's hands in dealing with Iran through the UN. If the US goes to the UN to seek action against Iran's nuclear weapons development program, France will block it by referring to their agreement in which Iran "promised" not to develop nuclear weapons in return for being left alone. They will swear on a stack of Bibles that Iran is living up to the agreement. I'm just surprised that the UK signed on to this obvious attempt to let Iran continue on the WMD program until the US is hit by a nuclear bomb smuggled in by Iranian sponsored terrorists.
Bush is going to have to give Israel the green light to destroy the Iranian weapons development program. Preferably, as soon as possible after the Iraqi elections are held.

“OK, so lets nuke the entire country. After all nobody lives there but terrorist Arabs.
Nuke em hard, nuke em fast and don't stop nuking till nothing larger that a flea survives. Oh well JUST NUKE THEM!”

“Same thing. No ignorance involved, I just do not see a diffrence between filthy Arabs and filthy Persians.
I guess technically there is a diffrence between poop & pee but I flush them both down the toilet just like we should do to the terrorist republic of Iran.”

For as bad and ignorant as mullahs are for 21st century, you rank as a bigot dinosaur fossil second in line. Perhaps you two are why each one exists. Caws shit too, they don’t brag about it. You conversation reeks a mile away.

Yeh, the point remains: Free Iran

We don't have to worry about Iran and nukes. Israels survival depends on the Iranains not developing nuke weapons. Israel will never let them develop them, so thats why the Iranians threatened the USA too.

They think that we'll stop the Israelis from attacking. Its not in our interests or the interests of the Israelis to not attack, so what will be will be.

Iran threatens retaliation from beyond the grave. "Our mediums will getcha, even after we are all rendered into dog food." Washington and Tel Aviv report widespread laughter.

Reza, I agree. Free Iran! We have many friends there, who are oppressed and long for freedom.

50 Cal, you are disgusting. You give FReepers a bad name, imho.

So how exactly will they retaliate? More terrorism? Enlist other Muslim nations to oppose us? It could get ugly for them a lot faster than it getting ugly for us.
