The Lord is the strength of His people,
a fortress of salvation for His anointed one.
Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
be their Shepherd and carry them forever.
You are in Your holy temple; You are on Your heavenly throne. You observe all people, for Your eyes examine each of our hearts. We pray that You would find our hearts broken and contrite, that we may seek Your forgiveness and Your blessing. Please give us spirits that are obedient unto You and alert to Your call. Thank You for hearing the cries of Your people who asked for Your hand to move in last week’s election. O Father, we will not forget Your kindness and the amazing answers to prayer that You gave us. We ascribe to You glory and strength and we worship You in the splendor of Your holiness.
Thank You, Father, for being our President’s strength and the fortress of his salvation. You have promised to be his Shepherd and to carry him forever. O Lord, as he continues in the work You have assigned him, we ask You to fill him with all the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. Let him be wise through Your wisdom, that he may shine as the brightness of the firmament, and that he may turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Let him be a mighty witness for You, Lord, throughout the nations. May he be a light in this world of darkness. Let his light so shine before men that they may see his good works, and glorify You, our God. Help him to walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. May his delight be in Your laws, and may he think about You and Your truths day and night. Let him be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that he may bring forth fruit, and may prosper in all things. Help him to keep Your charge, Lord, to walk in Your ways and to love others as You have loved us, that he may prosper in all that he does.
O God, we pray for Your divine guidance over all those in battle in Fallujah. Guard each soldier’s life and rescue all who may be at the mercy of the enemy. Answer every call of distress and help each troop to know that You are standing there before them. We pray that Your Spirit would raise up prayers throughout this nation on behalf of these brave men and women. Father, we pray also that the Iraqi people would turn deaf ears to the call for Jihad and would stand together against those who want to return control of their land to the terrorists. Open the doors of Iraq to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Lord, that the light of Your truth may shine in their nation.
Father, help us as prayer warriors to seek only Your approval, and not the approval of others, for we cannot be servants of our Lord, Jesus Christ, if our focus is on the world's approval. Let us put our trust in You, O Lord, for You will keep us. May our prayers be formed by the Holy Spirit as Your truths and Your will are placed in our hearts. Hear us this day, O Lord, and answer us in ways far more wonderful than we can hope or think. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our King, Amen.
Day 1513 - wow!
Lord, we ask your favor upon our President as he is girded up by this recent vote of confidence from the people. Keep him humble, but strengthen his resolve against all enemies. Keep him on your path, but grant him great grace when he falters. Keep him in submission to your will in all things. May there be no decision for which he does not seek your face and search your Word.
At this crossroads of his first and second term, Lord I ask you give him wisdom beyond himself to discern those who will be in his service in this administration. Reveal in clear terms who he should appoint, nominate, and/or release.
Lastly, we continue to bring our U.S. troops before the throne of grace. Be their Shield and Defender.
We ask in your mercy that you hear our prayers this day. Amen.

Continuing prayers for President Bush, our country, and our military.
Please, I do not want to cause fear as a reaction to this but to use it to release our FAITH in the ONE Who is the King over all the earth, to move things by our prayers to keep this wonderful and blessed president in office and sustained in life for the full measure of his appointed days.
First I want to say that earlier this year I had a strong burden in prayer that the enemy of our souls was wanting or trying to use the president's Secret Service to get at the president's schedule to try to assassinate him. I had the impression to pray that no attempts at bribery would succeed. Second, I want to share this Email that I received from a VERY trusted Christian friend and intercessor, from:

November 7, 2004 PRAYER ALERT
Dear Intercessors:
This morning I felt compelled to share a ... prayer alert I received in the spirit. This alert started over a year ago and each time it comes we've prayed against it for a season of time. THIS TIME, we felt to share it with others outside of our prayer circle.
In a flash I saw the assassination of our President ... . The assassin is one I've seen several times, a secret service employee ... one trained in the ranks for years, trusted, loyal, and assigned to the President. Each time I saw the words Syria. It was unclear whether the person is a Syrian or simply being planted or aided by them.
On this morning, I saw a connection between this plot and our enemy, Osama Bin Laden. I sense the Lord was saying Osama Bin Laden's intial attack against America will NOT be in a manner that is expected. But rather, he desires to do something spectacular. He did not plan to attack America on November 2nd instead, he intended to attack if the incumbent was elected.
We have been visibly shaken by this warning for it came as forcefully as the deaths we saw before the 9/11 attack. The Lord has said, there is no time to relax. We must stay sober and vigilant daily. The battle is fierce and it has only just begun.
Fear ran like a stream in the camp of the Lord's enemy after the elections. Hearts are melting. Yet, behind it I saw ANGER AND HATE mounting with a vengeance. Major battles are ahead. We must not relax!

It's clear that the Lord is urging His people to stay vigilant, and even to increase the vigilance, on behalf of President Bush, his administration, and our nation. In God we trust!
So Lord, I thank You for the voices of warning You have so graciously shared with us to preserve Your will over America. I pray the blessing of Almighty God on President Bush and all who serve him and the US; I pray confusion and utter defeat to those who plot evil against him and this nation, in Jesus' Name. I pray any and every plan against Bush will be exposed before it can bear fruit. Scatter the wicked; preserve Your servants; bless this land to turn to You and bring repentance and revival in Your perfect timing to America and the nations.

Gretchyn, I'm curious if this warning was sent to anyone in the Bush camp and if it was taken seriously? I'm sure they have threats every day...just wondering how they react to something that was sent from someone with a sincere interest in keeping the President safe.

Thank You, Lord, for all the benefits of knowing and serving You. There is nothing comparable to, there is no other life than that which is in You. Because You are holy, because You are love, mercy and righteousness, we are compassed about by You. You are our glory and the lifter of our heads, when we have no glory or virtue to lift our own heads.
Lord, I pray for each one of our forces in Iraq and Falujah, that You grant mercy and grace, protection and good success. Let there be victory with a minimum of casualties on all sides. Bring that long-troubled land to a righteous peace.
I join the Body here in praying for the president's safety, specifically against assassination threats. Much hinges upon this one man, and much has been accomplished that the enemy, who has displayed his ruthlessness, lusts to take down. Bring his plans to naught and his mind to confusion. Give Your servants clarity and wisdom and providence.
Father God, thank You for what is occurring in our nation before our eyes. You have set a table before us in the presence of our enemies, in that godly values, and indeed the Gospel of Christ, are being openly discussed in the pages of our most liberal newspapers and in all our public forums. Just as we prayed that Your Spirit of truth would penetrate for the purposes of the election, so now we pray that He would continue His work of truth, and of preparing hearts for the implantation of the Word of Life. Bring this nation to sweet repentance and healing, Lord, and with it the world.
And let it begin with us, in our hearts and lives, in our families and at our jobs. In all things be glorified in, by, and through us.
We remember the hostages, Lord, and Your persecuted throughout the earth.
Yours is an excellent question. I had the same thought about Rose Mary's word and would like for her to contact the Bush people. I don't have her Email address but have sent a follow-up to my intercessor friend who forward Rose Mary's Email to me.
Pastor Kim Clement (who hails from South Africa but now lives in the USA) met with President Bush before the second debate and gave him a very explicit warning about the threat against him -- and also lots of prophetic encouragement. I can send you the text of some of it (Clement said part of their communication was private) if you'd like. Just let me know and I'll FReepmail it to you, or post it on the thread.
Our precious Heavenly Father,
I lift up our beloved President to you today, and ask that he keep sound wisdom and discretion, that they will be life to his soul, and an adornment around his neck. That he will walk in Your way securely, and that his foot will not stumble. When he lies down, may he not be afraid, when he lies down may his sleep be sweet. Let him not be afraid of sudden fear, nor the onslaught of the wicked when it comes, for You, the Lord, shall be his confidence and You will keep his foot from being caught! (Prov. 3: 22-26)
Lord, please keep the American troops in Iraq close to your heart, be a strong right arm for the righteous cause! May Iraq be flooded with the gospel as it is liberated from the brutal terrorists of every stripe.
"Your shepherds are sleeping, O King of Assyria,(terrorists) your nobles are lying down. Your people are scattered on the mountains, and there is no one to regather them. There is no relief for your breakdown, your wound is incurable. All who hear about you will clap their hands over you, for on whom has not your evil passed continually?" (Nahum 3:18-19)

We realize that we are energized by the Holy Spirit for prayer; and we know what it is to pray in accordance with the Spirit; but we don't often realize that the Holy Spirit Himself prays prayers in us which we cannot utter ourselves. When we are born again of God and are indwelt by the Spirit of God, He expresses for us the unutterable.
"He," the Holy Spirit in you, "makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God: (8:27). And God searches your heart, not to know what your conscious prayers are, but to find out what the prayer of the Holy Spirit is.
The Spirit of God uses the nature of the believer as a temple in which to offer His prayers of intercession. "...your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit..." (1 Corinthians 6:19) When Jesus Christ cleansed the temple, "...He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple" (Mark 11:16). The Spirit of God will not allow you to use your body for your own convenience. Jesus ruthlessly cast out everyone who bought and sold in the temple, and said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer ... But you have made it a 'den of thieves' " (Mark 11:17).
Have we come to realize that our "body is the temple of the Holy Spirit"? If so, we must be careful to keep it undefiled for Him. We have to remember that our conscious life, even though only a small part of our total person, is to be regarded by us as a "temple of the Holy Spirit." He will be responsible for the unconscious part which we don't know, but we must pay careful attention to and guard the conscious part for which we are responsible.
