In fact, abortion was not an issue in the electionThe man is clueless.
I vote on two issues: the sanctity of human life and national security.
Abortion is always an issue.

Yes I feel the same about National Security and Abortion. I work with nice girls but they have no morals, one brags that abortion is no big deal and it is a woman's decision. They also feel nothing will happen in Hazleton PA so who cares about National Security. Such dippy women, very disappointing indeed. They also stay on their Birth Control pills all year "for year round sex with strangers" LOL.

And because you think that way it must be so?
Do you recall any discussion of abortion during the debates?
Frankly, if you read the entire article there's much more to what Mr. Wilson says than your selective view. Far from clueless, his analysis of the opinions is far a more in depth than most and shows a thoughtful insight into how we are lacking in any real understanding of what the data purports to indicate.

Yes, abortion is always an issue, but in this context, he's talking about what turned the fence sitters. If abortion always being an issue explained what happened in this election, then we would have had a second term for Bush41, followed by two terms of President Dole.

Mr. Silverback
(President Bush got 51 percent of the vote, a figure higher than that of any Democrat in 40 years.)

I think what he's saying is that a significant number of Americans did not link abortion's legality to who won the election.
I agree that a lot of Americans didn't realize how important this election was in regards to Roe vs Wade. But for those for whom abortion is always an issue, that detail was not lost on them, and a significant number of pro-life voters did turn out.

An issue to you, but this article was not about you. Abortion isn't the overriding issue of this, or any modern day election. Sorry.
