With possibly two appointments to the Supreme Court in the next four years one brilliant political action for President Bush is to promote Supreme Court appointments of "two" justices at the same time,
jointly
one Republican conservative such as
Judge Bork and
the other Democratic conservative such as Bill J. Clinton.
By offering that "two justices" retire at the same time then this action could be developed together, with the two retirees agreement.
In this way the "ultimate peace offering" and olive branch
would be offered to the "loosers" of this 2004 election.
Also we could banish Sen. Spector forever from the judicial committee chairmanship, and maybe he would escape to the Democratic party, or to Canada ... and Good Riddence !

Might as well appoint Howard Dean as Defense Secretary.

stoopid.
Bush won the white house.
The republicans took more congress.
There's no reason to add a demo-doofus to the courts.
It's time to gain ground on the supreme court. Not keep the same 5/4 split.
To paraphrase the recently importalized words of the Governator:
'Why should we reach out to losers?'

What better way to offer a "peace offering" to the loosers?? Bill Clinton's probably the loosest president we've ever had.

These libs think we are supposed to reach out to them but I think it's the other way around. Bush has capital and he plans on spending it!

Yeh, right. Bill Clinton as Supreme Court Justice even though the Court has revoked his license to practice law before the very court upon which you think he should sit.

Since last week was Halloween, think like this: Bill will be his first appointee, then Hillary. Then Barney Frank.
