To: Dubya's fan

As much as I love Rudy G., I think he's too liberal on abortion to win the 2008 nom. Much better to have him run against the Hildebeast in 2006 for Senate.

Just my opinion.

I also think so. He could defeat Hillary.

He won't, for the very reason that he does want to be President and knows that the Senate is not the path to the White House. A cabinet post like Homeland Security would give him the exposure he would want for a run in 2008.

And since Rudy won't be doing it I don't see anyone else knocking off Clinton in 2006.

Have to agree with you there. Is Pataki really presidential material? And, sadly for fans of Condoleeza Rice, I just don't think Americans are ready to elect a woman as president or as vice president (which is the same reason why I don't think the Democrats would squander an election cycle by nominating Hillary Clinton).

My theory, since early this year, is that HRC won't run for re-election in the Senate. She will state that she needs the time to focus on the task at hand (2008).

The reason for this is that if she gets smokes by Rudy in NY (and she will), there is no way that she'll be able to carry the ticket for the Dems.

BTW, if JFK would have won, HRC's political career would have been over ... she loses NY in 2006. See, my glass is always half full!!!

I think you may see a Mccain - Pataki ticket. I would like to see Owen (CO) but am not sure if a past marriage issue would pose a problem or not.
