So. Why were you gay in the first instance?

Why were you attracted to men initially?

Okay, this is a bit painful to talk about, but I should answer. Sexually abused at around age 10 by an older cousin several times. Basically shattered my psyche and just as I was beginning to put it back together, I got taken advantage of by another older homosexual male (Fortunately I have since left him far behind. I should have turned 'im in but I can't anymore since I don't know where he is and don't have any evidence). This was enough to convince my young 16-year-old mind that I was gay and I threw myself into it.

After about 6 months of that, my psyche was shattered again by more abuse from the same guy, and I nearly killed myself. I mean this sincerely; the only thing that saved my life was a desperate plea to God, who I never cared about until then. That's when I became a believer.

But alas, things are never that easy, for I quickly tripped over another stumbling block laid out for me by a well-meaning though misguided person who claimed that one could be homosexual and Christian at the same time. Being only an infant in the faith, I was deceived again. So I started a romance with another "gay Christian" who I knew, but as we grew closer to God, we realized that the "gay Christian" belief was wrong, to say the least. It took some doing, but we managed to both break free of homosexuality, much to the dismay of our other homosexual acquaintances. There were some nasty fights between us and them, but in the end it settled down and we convinced the three who haven't shunned us to vote for Bush.

And there's the story of the past three years of my life. Probably more than you were asking for.

A lib came on the board yesterday trying this crap. They use the same tactics the media uses to try and shape message and find common ground. They need to be driven off!

I like other dude's idea of ripping off their legs & shoving up their "you know whats"

Hi Mabel.. This buckeye (dolly cali not Mabel) voted for GWB also.. but I am blonde.

wow.. you really have been through the mill.. and how wise you are to have a handle on it .

God Bless you as you continue to sort through all of this - you are seeking God's guidance. that is the only way for clarity, peace & healing.

You have lots of prayer warriors here at FR. The RATS think we are stupid to pray. But we know better dont we?

I have a Ph.D. in organic spectroscopy with 26 patents, my wife has a masters in biology. After 20 years in research, I gave up a six figure salary to work as a church planter for eight years in Chile, still travel there twice a year to encourage and help sustain the work (experienced two elections there - wide experience, don't you know), I teach chemistry and classes in worldviews in high school. Our family is all Christians, and we all voted for President Bush. So sue us, left wing children of hamsters.

Oh yeah, my Chilean son-in-law (diversity) just walked into his boss' office and said he needed a $10,000 annual raise, which she (gender sensitivity) gave right on the spot. Unfortunately, he couldn't vote, not being a citizen (we play by the rules, see). But he woulda if he coulda. My daughter is being offered huge raises to keep her on with her company. She's pregnant (another Christian on the way), but she wants to be a stay-at-home mom. She's a Christian and voted for President Bush, because terrorists want to take away her health care.

The "liberals" are anything but liberal. Reforming social security is a very "progresive" idea, the ownership society after decades of democrats chipping away at private property is a "progressive" idea.

The democrat party is nothing more than an organization in search of magic words to get people to vote for them regardless of principle. They are just a mob of various politically correct groups seeking to aquire personal political power and impose their various agendas on the nation. Whether its thought crimes, homosexual marriage, race quotas or any other PC goal it is all the same.

The Democrat party can't reform or change because it is not what they exist for.

This election and their wacko liberal flip flop candidate only made the observation more obvious and plain to those of us no caugh up in the MSM "liberal" group think trap.

you sound like me in my college years.. Liberal college really messed up my mind.. took a few years & God's grace to sort it all out. Just like MSM, I thought all in college text books was correct/gospel.

Been a long day(week, month?)..gonna catch some Zzzsss.. you all be nice here! We brilliant PJ posters need to show our grace and humility despite the desire to sometimes do otherwise. Wish I could stay ... this is going to be an interesting thread.
