No idea. And I don't absolutely know that homosexuality is more prevalent in Arab countries, only that there is a long running reputation for sex with boys.
Also, AIDS and AIDS reporting are not easy to understand. It's been suggested that AIDS in Africa has been vastly overstated, for instance, presumably in hopes of receiving more aid money, while it's possible that AIDS in the Arab countries has been hidden or understated for religious and political reasons.
AIDS such a loaded, controversial, politicized subject that it's hard to know what evidence to believe.
