John, it's my belief that the left is now the Orwellian Party. What is good is evil. Terrorist are freedom fighters. Concern and love for our children is hate and Intolerance I heard the same Orwellian clap -trap about Reagan. On how he was making the world less safe. How he was squashing Freedom. Yet when Regan died, even the pundits and media realized how great he was. Bush gets it even worse than Reagan. Bush is evil not Osama, Saddam was legitimate not Bush. They are Haters who's misdirected hate is inwards, towards Bush and his supporters. Instead of outwards towards the people who REALLY have INTOLERANCE and want them dead and in jail and in internment camps and slaves, because of their lifestyles the Islamic/fascist
The Democrat Left is 1984 ! /boggle

Probably not a constitutional right, but the left would probably call it a "human right"

Yes, that's very sad. Thank you for pointing out that sadness.

Sorry Griesela, Casting a vote isn't like throwing a dime into a wishing well and having your wish magically granted. Your vote has exactly the same weight and power of every other vote, when the system works properly. We win some we lose some, and just look forward to next time if things didn't go our way.

Our's isn't a perfect system, but it beats hell out of every other system of Government ever devised by human beings.

Step #1: get a job.

'Course that may be difficult due to any recent arrests from riotous protest activities.

Well, there they go again! mixing up Jefferson's "The tree of liberty must be nourished with the blood of patriots" quote with something imagined in the Constitution.

Hey libs! You have a right to be safe and secure in your person and property. You have the right to keep and bear arms. The state cannot quarter soldiers on your property. You have the right to freely associate. You have the right to remain silent. You have freedom of speech and of the press. You are free to practice your religion. Your state has the right to secede (supposedly). But you do not have a recognized right to foment rebellion, disturb the peace, or deprive others of the rights you enjoy.

Can it be that liberals are adopting a black-helicopter/bunker mentality? This will a strange four years if libs try to regalvanize a "militia" movement! Wonder if the Keep Austin Weird crowd they'll try a go at a Texas Independence movement!

"What gets me is that every time a Republican president is elected, the predictions are that it's the end of freedom and civilization itself. Then nothing happens and we hear the identical predictions the next time. These people have no memory or sense of history; they're in the Eternal Now."

As Ann Coulter put it: "The joy of being a liberal is that history always begins this morning."

Ain't that the truth! In 2000 and 2002, I heard post-election predictions of "cattle cars for undesirables." What we got was a flood of illegal immigration and a call to tolerate the lawbreakers by "embracing diversity." This precipitated attacks by Islamic fundementalist enemies of the US who took full advantage of immigration loopholes and laxity. You know the rest.

Tsk, tsk, somebody else who thinks the world revolves around him just can't take it when he learns that there are others whose opinions and values count too - we all have to grow up sometime......

You ain't kiddin'. I've just been pumped by the decisivness of the election, but haven't gloated any, as most of us "winners" probably haven't (not 100%, ok).

But hearing Grisela and the other whining losers is so damn entertaining, I'm just lmao. I'm looking for more after I leave here.

These folks just can't stand the feelings of despair over being locked in the minority and unable to have things their own way.

Last (long) comment: If the Dems had had a viable candidate, like FDR or JFK or (ugh) Clinton, there's no question in my mind that Bush would have been beaten. Kerry was a terrible candidate, with zero appeal to both sides. His candidacy, alone, was a big plus for Bush.

And, still, there was only a 3% margin overall. National security and the war had to be more positive for Bush than Kerry's position was to the Dems. Still, the vote margin was only 3%.

I'm as happy as anyone that Bush won. But, I'm not getting cocky! Bush has a strong hold on Congress now, and he must make full use of it (Supreme Court, etc), because this country remains evenly divided. He does have a mandate. But the visions of each side are so well-defined as to make us nearly polarized.

Remember that this time, even with that pill Kerry, our side won by only 3%. Just a small swing, possible for any number of reasons, would allow that far-out left side to prevail. How horrible would that be?

Well, whatever, we can hack it. The losers, however, will continue to cry and whine 'till they win again. 8-)
