Sorry - Senators don't win elections. Need to nominate a governor. How about Bill Owens of Colorado??

Get your facts straight. George Allen was Governor of Virginia before he became US Senator from Virginia. That makes him an ex-governor just as Ronald Reagan was an ex-governor when he ran for President in both 1976 and 1980.

He got no facts incorrect. You are just adding details which doesn't, in any way, change the facts that were cited - Allen is a Senator, and Senators have a very poor track record of winning presidential electors.
