He may not want it, but it's part of their "death pact". I believe it's one of the things she demanded for standing by him during the intern scandal. They have too much information each other to turn back now.

The two really are perfect for each other: Beauty and Brains, she being the brains of the two.

Actually if you look at the relationship of the two of them from 1990 until today, they have ridden a seesaw of power, between the two of them. Specifically:

60 minutes interview - Hillary saves Bill, Hillary on top.
Medical reform - Hillary's plan implodes, Bill on top.
Monica - Hillary stays with him, Hillary back on top.

Bill owes her big time and he knows it, probably because she will not let him forget. I am sure Bill has something in mind for himself when/if she becomes President.
