George Bush? No. Terry McAuliffe? Nope. Michael Moore? No way. There is only one person in America today who can qualify as the most nervous person in America.
John Edwards made his fame and fortune as an ambulance chasing trial lawyer, who almost single handedly made the medical professional less lucrative to practice, and almost single handedly wiped out all the OB/Gyn's because of the liability coverage they now have to carry.
John Edwards served his one term in the United States Senate, and has literally nothing to show for it. There was no one to sue. So he ran for President. The Democrats, in their infinite wisdom, chose John Kerry instead, who in his infinite wisdom, chose Edwards to run with him.
John Edwards was harder to find during the campaign season than Dick Cheney was after 9/11. He couldn't have been happy about that.
Now we move to the election Tuesday night. As the night wore on, it was obvious to anyone with a brain that Ohio wasn't going to happen for the Democrats. It was close, but not Florida 2000 close. John Edwards wasn't going to give up without a fight. The plane of lawyers was in the air, on their way to the Buckeye state, and each vote was going to be sued over, if necessary.
According to different press reports, even up to the point Kerry called the President to concede, it was Edwards who kept telling him not to do it. He wanted to let the lawyers do their thing. Kerry, to his credit, did the math and stopped the madness.
Edwards is ticked. He's all revved up with no one to sue.
One day later, we learn that his wife, Elizabeth, has breast cancer. Let me pause for a moment and clearly state that cancer of any type is serious, but early reports are that this is a very curable form of cancer, and our prayers are with the Edwards family and we hope she has a speedy recovery. We obviously separate the people from the politics.
But with John Edwards geared up for a fight and nowhere to vent it, and already looking at what he's going to do for the next few years, he's obviously got to take a look at chasing a few ambulances again.
Which brings me to the most nervous person in America. Could you imagine being Elizabeth Edwards' doctor right now? Could you imagine being Elizabeth Edwards' doctor's malpractice carrier right now?
Sen. Loyd Benson...of Texas
But then I'm a political junkie!!1 lol
I had to think about his real name for a moment because I had always called him by the name that Hispanics had given to him. They called him "cagalistroso," which translates as an old man who is always defecating in his pants. :-)
Bentsen.
Well said.
No I treat them like any other patients. I involve every patients and their family in the decision making process. Go over any procedure in detail. Explain every possible risks, complications, and benefits as well as indications for what we do and allow them to make a decision. Have never been sued in ~20 years of practice, but still paying liability insurance out the WAHZOOO.
Interesting. You sound like a good man. The system is out of control, and men like Edwards bear the brunt of responsibility for that. Perhaps one good thing that might come out of this is his seeing that. Something one hopes he would consider before spouting off on how he would fix health care. Take care.
"cagalistroso"
LOLOLOLO..... Gracias Senor!!!!!!!!!!!
Pour the crimson in me , Jimson .. )
He might sue his wife for breast cancer
LOL, takes me back to the days of listening to Dr Demento on Sunday Night.
