Dan will never get it. We turned to CBS arond 10:00 pm Pacific, because I wanted to watch his meltdown for a minute or two. This was after Fox News had finally called Florida, and it was looking like Ohio was going for Bush. Dan was indeed melting down, and discussing how Kerry could still win. It was really rather pitiful. I laughed at him for a minute or two, then went to bed, happy.

I tuned over because the only thing I wanted to hear out of Dan Rather was, "George W. Bush has won reelection". I Couldn't believe my eyes and ears. Here is the dean of TV news babbling like an idiot.

What's worse, he was reading it off a script. I guess there is no real meaning to, "If a frog had pockets he'd carry a side arm".

Dan was discussing how Kerry could still win.

Same here - I turned to my wife and said "when they're explaining how their candidate could still possibly win, it means they've lost".

I did the same thing. It was pitiful. He kept creating scenarios where Kerry won, each more improbable than the last. Meanwhile anyone with basic math skills and a cursory knowledge of Ohio politics had figured out it was over. (Barone on Fox was terrific).

It was sad and terrible to see such irrelevant but blatant bias.

Re#7 Me too. I almost wore out my remote trying to experience as much Schadenfreude as possible. Blather was hilarious with this pointer and map, flailing and blabbering on about all the different ways that Kerry could win, mixing up numbers and sounding confused and desparate. It was sweet....

I fell asleep around 8 eastern (rough day) and woke up at 4AM to see who had won. I didn't even turn the volume up. I could tell by Dan's sad, haggard demeanor that Bush had won. (Priceless)

I watched him later when it was coming clear Ohio would not work out for a Kerry victory.

He was pathetic, almost like a man alone in the room, talking to himself, musing over what remaining combination could give it to Kerry.

Kinda like, "well give Kerry Alaska and Wyoming, no, no, give Kerry New Mexico, yes, yes....."

I did the same -- after Fox called Ohio for Bush, I just HAD to see Danny boy in total mental meltdown. And, he did not disappoint -- still trying to pull it out for Kerry, like he had any say in the matter!

It is really against my nature to laugh at other people's pain, but I will make an exception for Dan and the rest of the RATs who, determined to win at any cost, think nothing of dragging the entire country through the mud, leveling false accusations at honorable men and fabricating "evidence" to support their claims, actively supressing any effort to get the truth out and then having the gall to proclaim themselves champions of free speech and purveyors of knowledge. They think their ends justify any means. These people deserve to be mocked mercilessly. Their pernicious pomposity is only rivaled by their fragile egos.

Same for us, only it was 12 midnight Central time. And yes, Rather was NOT a happy camper at that point. In fact, his upper lip was curled with a sneer that was evil. I literally couldn't watch Rather at that point - gave me the (Slick) Willies!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a split screen TV. So I had Fox on one side and was flipping channels on the other. As soon as Fox called Ohio, I flipped to CBS for the meltdown. And as we all know, I was not let down :) Thanks for the fun evening, Dan.
