It was better then (the 60's and 70's)
but it must've been dirty already to have turned out like it has.

Yeah, it was corrupt then, but perhaps not so blatantly biassed (although their attacks on Nixon probably rose to that level). I think a big part of the Bush hating is payback for Clinton's impeachment, so hold on!

No, it wasn't any better at all. We just didn't have any way to know how bad it was.

Cronkite's coverage of the Tet Offensive is a prime example of just how bad it really was. Military success in the field was viewed as a horrendous defeat at home primarily based on his reporting of it.

In the 50's and 60's it was fairly objective. The last great TV news men were Howard K. Smith and Eric Severeid. It started going down hill after that.

An esteemed journalist, giving a speech to an awards presentation ceremony, having won the Best Journalist of the year award, stated that Journalism had nothing to do with the truth.

This happened over 50 years ago.

Any media that has potential of power over the knowledge fed to the public, it becomes a source of political power.

The advertisors regulate that media, and most of them are only interested in PROFIT. The MEDIA is only interested in PROFIT. The politicians that BRIBE and CAJOL the media, are only interested in PROFIT.

The biggest organization with only PROFIT in mind is ORGANIZED CRIME.

The terrorists are just another wing of ORGANIZED CRIME.

It's all a big circle.

They want it all. They didn't like President Bush eliminating their access to power and money. They didn't like President Bush rooting out corruption in government. They didn't like President Bush interfering in their takeover of Israel, England, France, Germany or any other darn place.
