My husband and I live in Pasadena. We went to an open house a couple of doors down from us. The house was less than 1600 sq feet and they wanted $740,000!! The master bedroom didn't even have a closet!!! Unbelieveable. My husband says that mortgage payments would be $7000-$9000 a month including taxes. That's just nuts! I mean, if it was a mansion, it would be worth it...but a dinky tuna can?

I was worried that so many liberals may have moved to Phoenix and Las Vegas that it would turn both states demonrat.

I can not wait to move out of the People's Republic of California. I would really prefer to be surounded by the good old boys of a Red state. I have had it up to my ears with the efete, intellectual cocaine sniffers of the SF Bay Area.

California....the state that eats its most productive citizens and feeds the remains to its least productive inhabitants...most of whom are not even US citizens...

I really hate what illegal immigration has done to my City (used to be small town). There are places here now that actually look just like Mexico. My husband is retiring soon and we are leaving. I say let em have California.

On Wednesday Tom Sullivan, local radio talk show host and sometimes fill-in for Rush, explained why San Francisco people are so out of touch with the rest of America. While the President has raised the home ownership rate in the U.S. to 70%+, the home ownership rate in SFO is only around 35%. If you aren't responsible for property, YOU AREN'T RESPONSIBLE!

I don't care about where they're moving from. I want to know where they're moving to!

I'll wager a disproportionate number of them are heading for Austin, TX, which has virtually become the San Francisco of TX. Crap. I wish Texans would buy up billboard ads on the Interstates, hiways and byways in AZ and NM, telling the Californicators to take that left turn at Albuquerque! (As a Texan, I'd contribute to the cause.)

My next door neighbor moved here (Oklahoma) from California recently. He and 14 other members of his family all left CA at the same time. Religious, political and economic climate was horrible, they said. 15 people (4 families) moved!!!

Just please don't bring your failing Boxer, Feinswine, Jack Scott, Don Perata, Dick Riordan, and Red Davis politics with you.

"California is still expected to gain in population, but it will be driven by people coming here from other countries rather than other states"

TRANSLATION, the ILLEGAL INVADERS keep on coming!

So long as Kali. continues to fill the feed trough with freebies and racial preferences for illegals, to be paid for by the diminishing number of hard working Americans, Kali. will continue it's slide toward becoming a third world dictatorship c**p hole.

I only wonder how bad it has to get before any real action is taken.

My wife and I will be contributing to the migration eastward out of California sometime about mid-2005. We would do it now, but need to reside in our current home for two years to avoid capital gains tax, and to let our equity build a little more (from the standpoint of looking at our house purely as an investment, we're making great money in the market that we are currently in here).

In many ways, I hate to say goodbye to this place. It's got great weather, a marvelous variety of natural beauty and fun activities from surfing to skiing, but quite frankly, the liberalism and illegal immigration has just gnawed our nerves down to the point that they are raw, and can't take any more.

I'd love to stay and fight the liberal tide alongside all the good conservative people here (I'd estimate that CA is about 45% conservative, mostly in the non-coastal areas), but I'm battle-weary and don't see any end in sight to the cancerous spread of leftist insanity.

The town I live in, in the Salinas Valley, is about 90% Mexican, and living here is quite literally like living in Mexico -- I can't even communicate on a basic level (i.e. the spoken language) with over half the people in my neighborhood.

Like everyone else, I'm surprised that the housing market can continue to sustain such a rapid upward spiral in pricing, but I'm ready to get out of that market, cash in on my home equity, and buy a nice plot of land with a spacious house smack-dab in the middle of Flyover Country.

We're currently favoring Tennessee, with other potential points-of-destination including Texas, South Carolina, and North Carolina. I grew up in Texas, so I already know how great it is to be surrounded by friendly people who share our conservative values. That, more than anything else, is what we're really looking forward to as we head eastward.
