They knew this before today and hid it from the campaign. It would have distracted John.

But I disagree with you: If they had revealed this Monday, it would have been 5 percentage GAIN for the Edwards ticket!

I disagree.
It would have reminded folks that Kerry had cancer earlier and make folks afraid that Edwards may end up getting the office.
