In the second map, I like the way they include only the coastal strip of California in "their" part (but should do the same for Washington and Oregon). That would leave the United States of Texas with 13 major league teams (including the Angels and Padres since Orange County and San Diego County are in UST).

I agree, only the coastal strip of OR and WA should be included. If you look at the USA Today county map the majority of OR and WA is red. Long live the Republic of Texas!
