In probably the most poignant moment I have ever heard on talk radio, a retired Marine was weeping on the Dennis Prager show this morning.
He was choking on tears when he told Dennis that Dennis had been doing the Lord's work. Then, he asked Dennis if this finally meant that the Vietnam veterans had been vindicated. He could barely get that out. Dennis assured him that such was indeed the case.
Finally, these brave men who gave so much and were trashed by a traitor have been welcomed home.
Dennis admitted that he cried twice today in great relief that our country has been saved. The South and the values of Middle America made the difference. He went on to say that the North once saved our Union; now the South will save it.
This was the most important election of my lifetime. No matter how old you are, it is probably the same with you.
Bttt.
November 11th is Veteran's Day - I think there should be a parade for all Vietnam veterans as the stars and the SWifties and the HOnored Guests---
I don't think Bush will say anything today, because it would look like a poor winner statement. But we should e-mail senators and anyone we know to get Pres. Bush to press for special recognition at this year's Veteran's Day celebrations.!!!!!
Thank you I appreciate it.
That is exactly what I've been thinking. He needs to be gone as punishment for what he did so many years ago and his arrogant attitude concerning his actions. But I'm afraid he is so arrogant that he will never understand how wrong he was.
Bless our Vets for their courage under fire, then and through this.
When compared to a Marine, I am nothing.
What was old is new again! The values of my grandparents are once again mainstream; I hope that a stake is driven through the heart of liberalism once and for all.
Yeah, me too. Thanks America
Oooohhh man.
Now I need a new pair of contact lenses.
God has blessed this country and I am GRATEFUL!
The only thing that kept me from showing the tears was focusing on the REALLY bad toupee on the guy in front of me.
I have been saying that very thing for months, that this is the most important election of my lifetime. I had preached to all my kids about it too, with the thought of my grandson's future. All my kids voted, except one daughter-in-law who is Japanese and she wanted to vote so much because she realized how important it was. She's as excited today as the rest of us are.
No, I think they've been vindicatd. It's over.
It is over. Kerry will wander the halls of Congress like a Senatorial Marie Celeste until the conservative wave finally breaks over Massachusetts and he is washed away forever.
I understand that Dick Morris and Ann Coulter have both indicated that there needs to be an investigation into those exit polls.
I was sick to my stomach early yesterday, but it was like mashing on a sore tooth. I had to see how bad it could hurt!
I stayed with it until five this morning waiting for New Mexico or Nevada.
I'm glad I can be lazy and not work today!
Two of my children are Boomers and liberal to the core. The last one is a GenXer and as different as day is to night. He is very conservative and married to a conservative. They both voted for Bush yesterday and canceled out the Boomers' vote hehehehe.
How do we organize the parade these fellows never had? Let's get going on this. They deserve it. At least a special place in the inaugural parade. (I posted this on another thread too - sorry for the repeat)
I'm away from radio reception for 3 minutes...and of course I miss this.
repeated for late-arriving posters/lurkers:
Go to http://www2.krla870.com/listen/ after 12:00 Pacific, and the show will be archived. About 75- 90 minutes into the show.
Here's a thread on the caller you called me about.
He has a replay later tonight I am pretty sure.
WELCOME HOME! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
A parade is a great idea. Maybe we can work with the SwiftVets to organize it. How about a SwiftVet brunch/party broadcast on C-SPAN?
