Jobs listings in Canada?

So I checked the Canadian Immigration website and my husband and I have the employment skills on the list.
Yep, we're going. We'll keep our US citizenship so we can vote, (and we will continue to vote against Repubicans) but we've had it with this place. The people here have lost their minds and worse, our democracy. (Except you all, and thanks....you have kept me sane.) We don't want to raise our beautiful daughter here. We live in a red area of California, and we don't even want to live among these people or have her go to school with them.
I'm actually feeling good about it. A brand new start. We're ready.
So I'm hoping there might be someone out there who has some good sites to search for jobs in Canada. (We are in the GIS field if that helps.) Also, for any Canadians: Which parts of Canada are more progressive? We sure don't want to move away from here just to end up surrounded by conservatives again.
Thanks for the help.

Am I Wrong To Leave America?

My husband and I decided that if Bush won, we would move to Europe. We didn't think he would and we poured out hearts out doing everything we could possibly do (just like all of you) to make sure it didn't happen. I haven't been to DU in so long just because every ounce of time I had was working to get Kerry elected. Losing was not an option.

But, now we are faced with the possibility of having absolutely no say in this country. All three branches of government are Republican controlled. Nothing short of taking to the street with arms will prevent them from ruining this country as they will. I don't have to run down the list of bad things that happened overnight. Is it wrong to make our plans to leave this country?

This is very painful for me and I come to DU for your guidance. I feel like I'm running away, but I also have a personal choice: raise my child (she's 6 months old now) in Bush's America with my immigrant husband (what will Ashcroft do to us?)-- or move to Europe to enjoy sticking my head in a vacuum for a couple of years to decompress and forget all about the dying, the pollution, the drilling and the stripping of women's rights.

What would you do?

13. Don't Blame you

No, I don't blame you for wanting to leave and I would actually recommend it in your case. If you want to keep your child safe and to grow up without stupid ideas they may get from school or whatever.

Honestly, I would move to canada or europe if I could. But I'm very poor with no job (thanks BUSH!!). So I'll be sticking around till I can at least get some money up to leave

Call me what you will I DON'T CARE BUT

I'm getting the hell out of Dodge. America has seen a sad day indeed. The fact that it is 10:48 a.m. Nov 3 and we do not have a winner has just proved that American Democracy is dead. We see that the house and Senate are now held by the Republicans and the White House is not even decided yet.

This is a sad day people because it showed that we learned NOTHING from the 2000 election.

Regardless of who ends up in the white house I will be leaving this country VERY disillusioned with it. The media act like childish brats wanting to pull our emotions in EVERY direction just to make their ratings soar.

I do not believe those in power will ever serve the population justly. They will say they are looking out for their best interest and most of us will either be brainwashed or will be silenced in one way or another.

I promise my husband I will stay long enough to get him out of the debt we find ourselves in then I will leave.

I don't know which country will accept me but I know I cannot leave in a country that will continue to claim to be for all people but in reality doesn't not practice what it says.

I predict that within a week of a declaring a win Bush will invade another country, and within 18 months people will see more and more rights slowly slipping away. Freedom of speech and separation of Church and state will be the next things to go. Enjoy this forum while you can.

even if Kerry somehow does pull out the win nothing will change that much.

I lost my faith in all religions several years ago and I have lost faith in this country and this world now.

This is called "trimming the fat".

I expect a nasty battle between the Deaniacs who begrudgingly accepted Kerry's transparent, non-platform and the Old Guard.

The chances of a viable candidate emerging in the next four years is slim.

On the other hand, I can't name a viable candidate for our side either (Pataki? Frist? YUCK)

Interesting about the messages here...

The are broke and jobless, or in debt and it is everyone's fault but theirs.

Think your husband will go with you? Sounds like he might be glad your leaving.
