That is clearly amazing that you refuse to answer. I guess your true colors are showing quite clearly.
Liberals have told you that we should all be ashamed of American History. You probably didn't buy into their tripe. They've been teaching kids to be ashamed of the South for much longer. They've been spreading their lies for generations. Those lies have become accepted "facts" among many who claim to be enlightened. They don't want to hear the truth, because that would require talking about something they've been convinced is so shameful it should never be mentioned, except for the purpose of convincing others it's shameful. They jump into threads about the South, to tell Southerners to shut up. The South should only be discussed by enlightened liberals posing as Conservatives. Bigotry is fine, as long it's their brand of bigotry. Of course, it isn't bigotry if it comes from them. Excuse me while I go barf.
Yes, my true colors are showing. And I'm not even ashamed. Imagine that. A lady who's not ashamed of being intelligent, honest, well informed, and classy. I suppose that's a rarity where you come from. If you intend to keep crashing the threads about the South, you better get used to it.
So, let me get this straight. Only people who currently live in the South are justified (in your twisted mind) to comment on any subject dealing with the South? What if someone (who shall remain nameless) was raised in the South. Say, someplace like RTP, NC? Could that person discuss the South or would that person be considered not "Southern enough"?
Hmm, sounds like fear from differing opinions. You still have not given your classy, well-informed opinion on freeing enslaved people.
You said "1st Colorado Volunteer Militia" when it was not a militia and when that is not the unit's real name, which is the 1st Colorado Volunteer Infantry. There is nothing "specious" about noting that fact, capitan.
That you physically altered the name of the unit to make it appear as if they were a militia indicates dishonesty. In your case it is part of a long pattern of dishonesty from fabricated court cases to extraneous material passed off as decisions to fake battles that never happened and, just like all of your previous fibs, you adamantly refuse to own up to the mistake even after getting caught. You're a filthy liar and it's showing yet again.
Sorry but I don't know what you're talking about.
Anyone raised in the South would be unlikely to be stupid enough to ask that question. Now, would you please quit hounding me about own ignorance? It's not my fault you're stupid! Sheesh!!!
I don't understand why there is such dispariity among bloggers on "The South". My generation was not taught "North vs. South" beyond 1865, but it seems the powers that be are interested only in dividing the country.
According to some of the posts, they're doing a pretty good job of it, so barf away, BB. Mind if I join you?
Paperdoll,
That was my point in my original post. Why must we still reference the "winning" or "losing" of the war that almost ended this great experiment known as The UNITED States of America?!
Who cares who lives where? We are all part of the greatest nation this earth has ever seen!
"We are all part of the greatest nation this earth has ever seen!"
Thanks be to God!
Roger that!

AMEN!!!
Since I'm not one who believes the SCOTUS is always right, I suppose you could attack their argument, but that's not what you did. You claimed thier support when it did not exist.
Didn't you learn your state's history as well as American History in school? Why should Americans be ashamed of where they come from? The regional cleansing that liberals have perpetrated on the South is what's shameful.
And one more thing. Just because Sherman burned his way through the South doesn't mean it ceased to exist in 1865. It's history continued on, and still does.
If you've friends or family who's family roots are in the old Confederacy, you probably know it was never over, just 1-0 at the half. I think that by and large, the Nation was on its way to homogeny when the rise of Taxistan in the Northeast and Buttpackistan on the West Coast convinced second- and third-generation (removed from the war, that is) confederates that Dixie was different.
I have to admit, it's probably a lot easier watching state supreme courts rule against the Boy Scouts while upholding gay marriage and bringing down the pledge if... well... that's them and they're not us by golly.
The point in your original post was to bash Southerners. You've continued that theme throughout. No point in trying to backtrack now.
The free men to whom they referred were not former slaves.
You're supposed to be ashamed of being Southern. You're supposed to want to be just like the euro-weenie states of un Amerika. You're supposed to want that so badly that you deny there is any difference between Massachusetts and Alabama.
Nor us, my friend.
