My history books said the south lost the Civil War, but apparently that was just a battle. The south lost the battle of 1861-1865, but now are winning the war.

That might be the old CRAG - Regional Government plan from
the sixties and seventies. In Oregon they changed the name to Metro - not quite as far reaching, but unrepresentative government just the same. Fought like a tigress against CRAG back then. Sounds like we need to start sharpening our claws again.

As I told Noni....I don't have a problem with integration, just the fact that it was forced! Of course what would YOU know of being forced to integrate, living in Washington State?! Were YOU ever forced to go to school with people you had nothing in common with? I was. I also remember the racial tension, and hatred that went with it!
There are MANY blacks that would prefer having integrated schools. The problem was the fact that segregated schools weren't EQUAL.

Let me help get a grip on what happened. The article showed an insulting stereotype about the GOP AND the southern states. Then everyone got into a verbal brawl.

I don't understand why you would refuse to answer this question. It's pretty simple, so even you can answer it. Unless you think that there are reasons not to free enslaved people. Why can't you just say, "Yes, I believe that fighting to free enslaved people is the right thing to do."? Unless, of course you don't second that emotion

My question doesn't just deal with pre-Civil War America, but deals with current-day Africa, pre-liberation Iraq and current-day Cuba, just to name a few. Well, since I was just a kid, I didn't create the problem either. I don't have a problem with the Republican Party, just Abe Lincoln. And by the way, you can blame most of the racial problems on Reconstruction and Federal Bayonet Rule........and don't even try to feed me any cr*p about how racism didn't exist in other parts of the country other than the south. Agreed, racism exist everywhere, even today. Slavery however, was mostly in the South, and was the reason the Republican Party began in the first place: to end it!

Republicans have always been about freedom. For everyone...even Iraqis and Cubans!!! Our first slogan was
