What a gift it is to be able to host exchange students!

We did it for about twelve years. Our guests were mostly from Germany, Lithuania, Latvia and Brazil.

I feel that we learned more from them than they learned from us. Now that our granddaughter got her own apartment, thus freeing a bedroom, I'm ready to host the students again. It is one of the best things I've ever done.

I strongly urge anyone who is able to do this, to open their homes and hearts to these wonderful young people. You won't be sorry.

Don't know what made that big blank white space under my post.

Off Topic: You're 100% correct, we (my huband and I) were the lucky recipients of knowledge from each exchange student who stayed with us. We've also been talking about hosting a student again. We also hosted a boy from Thailand, but due to an emergency surgery for me, we couldn't keep him. The only bad part is the tears by all when they leave to go back home.
