Here is this lastest statement from the new amir of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, Sheikh Abu Abdullah Saud Ben Hamoud Al-Otaibi, which he issued during Ramadan to emphasize the obligations of Muslims and clarify recent actions by the Saudi government.
This is a bit lengthy. The following are a few excerpts:
Oh, Muslims:
Do not fear the strikes of the tyrants. They have done all they could to extinguish the light of Jihad in the Arabian Peninsula, but with the grace of Allah, the light kept on shining
Anyone is acquainted closely with the Mujahideen knows that they are eager to be martyred in the cause of Allah. They are more eager to be martyred than the tyrants and their soldiers are eager to live.
In closing, I wish to remind all my Muslim brothers of their duty toward Jihad in the cause of Allah. I wish to advice them not to stay home and abandon this Fardh (duty) and not to listen to those Hypocrites, corrupt scholars, and leaders of fear and pessimism. All of them want to discourage you and want you to give up and surrender to the crusaders and obey the apostates, they want you to surrender Moslem honor, dignity, and women to the enemies of this Ummah and the enemies of this Deen (Islam).
Oh, Muslims:
If you are confused about Jihad in the Arabian Peninsula, why not join Jihad in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Chechnya? If you are afraid of the heavy handed punishment of the tyrants in Arabia, why not go to Iraq? Why don’t you join your brothers in Fallujah, Ramaadi, Baqoubah, or Mosel? How could you be content with your living in the comfort of your home while your brothers in Iraq and other places are crying for help? The Muslim honor is crying for Ahlu Al-Tawhid (party of the oneness) and the true men to restore the Muslim dignity and honor, will you answer the call?
Oh, Muslims, make this honored month be the last time you stayed behind, get going, do not waste any time, and go join your brothers on one of the battle fields.
The Holy Qura’an has not left any legitimate excuse. As far as we are concerned, we have taken an oath to continue with Jihad until we meet Allah. We are determined to continue on this road (Jihad Road) and nothing will distract us or make us change course.
