TOKYO (AP) Japans navy forces went on alert early Wednesday after a foreign submarine was briefly spotted in its territorial waters, the governments top spokesman said.
The sub, of unknown origin, left Japanese waters shortly after it was spotted, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroyuki Hosoda said.
Right now the submarine has exited Japanese territory, Hosoda added, saying that they were still monitoring its movements.
